Welcome to Pizzeria La Boccaccia, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Rome, located at Via di Santa Dorotea, 2, 00153 Roma RM. This charming pizzeria invites both locals and travelers to indulge in the authentic experience of Romans enjoying their beloved pizza. If you are searching for a delightful culinary stop that captures the essence of the city's food culture, look no further than La Boccaccia.
What sets this pizzeria apart is its unique approach to serving pizza: pizza al taglio, or pizza by the slice, offered by weight. As Sandra Chiang aptly describes, the pizza here is "fresh, flavorful, and packed with choices." Guests can indulge their creativity by selecting their preferred toppings, whether it be the delightful pesto zucchini with basil or a classic diavola, then watching as their chosen slice is heated to perfection. It's an exhilarating experience, especially when paired with the cozy ambiance of this quaint establishment.
The atmosphere at La Boccaccia is effortlessly inviting. As noted by Karolina Palussek, eating outside while observing the rhythm of local life enhances the overall experience. There’s something special about savoring a hot slice of Roman pizza while soaking in the sights and sounds of the bustling streets. The pizzeria's modest setup also allows for a casual, laid-back dining experience, perfect for quick bites or leisurely indulgences alike.
Many patrons, including Clarissa Martínez, have lauded the warm customer service provided by the staff. Even if English is not widely spoken, the genuine hospitality makes guests feel welcome. The woman behind the counter is known for her kind and thoughtful demeanor, exemplified by her small gestures, like treating families with some delectable Bianco bread while they wait for their pizzas. Such attentiveness is what truly cultivates a feeling of comfort and belonging.
Affordable yet utterly satisfying, Pizzeria La Boccaccia has become a favorite for those keen on exploring Roman culinary traditions. Sabrina L expressed that her visit turned out to be one of the highlights of her time in Italy, emphasizing how the simplistic yet vibrant flavors of the pizzas left a lasting impression. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or a curious traveler, La Boccaccia promises a delicious slice of Roman life, lovingly served with a smile.
To sum it up, Pizzeria La Boccaccia is more than just a pizzeria; it's a slice of Rome's heart. With each bite, patrons experience the city’s culinary charisma, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking genuine Italian flair in their dining adventures. So grab your friends, come hungry, and prepare to discover your new favorite pizza hideaway.

Fresh, flavorful, and plenty of choices. Pick your favorites and pay by weight. This much cost 14.50 euros. Cozy, little corner, with air conditioning. Many locals eat here, so it's legit.

Really good food, pizzas by weight and they heat it up for you right there. It’s somewhat of a local spot so don’t expect to be welcomed in english but there’s no difficulties communicating because everything is on display. We sat on the benches that were outside. Perfect for a quick bite!

This place captures the essence of Rome! We tried the traditional “pizza al taglio” (pizza by the slice), and it was just what we needed ↔ You choose your type, they weigh it, warm it up, and you’re good to go. Eating it outside while watching locals pop in and out — and tourists strolling by — made it even better. Super affordable and super satisfying.

This turned out to be one of my favorite places we ate pizza. We get Neapolitan style pizza back home so I was more interested in Roman style. Boccaccia had simple delicious flavors like pesto zucchini with basil & vegetables (the best one and our favorite!), potato & sausage, diavola, classic cheese, mushroom, & a few other flavors. The only one I didn’t care for was lettuce and olives but that’s personal preference. The woman behind the counter spoke little English but was so kind and had great energy. She was patient with us & seemed to know exactly what we were communicating. She must’ve sensed my kids were hungry because she randomly gifted us with plain bread that I think is called Bianco which was thin & crackly and delicious (salted and baked with olive oil?) while we waited for our slice selections to warm up in the oven. She had also directed us from a table in the front to a bigger one in the back so we’d be more comfortable. Very thoughtful woman and we appreciated her and the pizza. It came piping hot to our table and we enjoyed the hot pizza with cold sodas. Delicious!

Best already done pizza I have had in years. They sell it by weight but be adventurous and try as many as possible.

Pizzeria La Boccaccia serves tasty pizza, especially when it’s fresh out of the oven. The flavors are great, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re craving a delicious, hot pizza.

I’ve been eating this for 20 years and it’s still the best pizza I’ve had in my life. I dream of the potato pizza. I’ve had pizza places at home attempt to recreate and it’s never the same. Their crust has a hold on me.
